RESEARCH & PRACTICAL GUIDANCE
Review a complete draft
Use the checklist when the text, tables, sources and supporting records exist. A planned title is not ready for release. Identify the publication type, audience and review route. Distinguish language polishing from scientific review so a well-written document is not mistaken for a methodologically checked research output.
Check claims and release metadata
Trace conclusions to the analysis and original sources. Confirm authors and contributions, conflicts, data access, rights, version, language and citation information. Tables and numerical statements should match the supporting records. Do not assign a DOI, peer-review status or institutional approval that has not actually been issued or confirmed.
Resolve before release
List unresolved claims, missing permissions and unclear methods with a responsible reviewer. Some issues require revision or withholding a release, not a cosmetic note. Record the final review decision and correction route. The completion count is a self-check; it is not approval to publish or evidence that an institutional publication gate has been passed.
The working record to prepare
Retain a release-review record that names the draft and unresolved issues. A documented approval, when required, must come from the responsible process rather than this educational tool.
- Final text and supporting records
- Authorship, conflicts and rights
- Review decision and required changes
- Version, citation and correction route
